It was a mere Monday afternoon when we got the call to say our stock had landed - a bittersweet moment when we found out it had to be picked up that night...but we move!
Two truckloads, carrying everything up three flights of stairs by hand, and a few hours later we were surrounded by 33 BOXES of Hunger Gains FIRST EVER DROP. Our living room turned very quickly into a makeshift warehouse, with industrial shelving from marketplace being ERECTED (great word) less than 24 hours later.
THEN CAME THE REAL GRIND.
Every single box had to be opened, every garment unpacked, counted and checked - ALL BY HAND. Someone once said to me when we first decided to start out on this journey that it isn't for the faint-hearted....relatable in this moment haha! The thing is, this part of the process has given us a great sense of accomplishment. WE created this, and WE really got here. WOW.
It has been all systems go since the stock landed after a few months of complacent waiting. Uploading inventory, matching stock levels, building the website, planning the shoots, organising content, and trying to stay consistent on socials in between it all. It has been messy, full-on, and a lot at times - but its also been one of the most exciting parts of the journey so far.
This is something we have built from the ground up. Every garment has been designed meticulously. Set backs during the sampling process were probably one of the most frustrating parts of the past year - not being able to colour match different GSM's meant that our entire initial plan was thrown out of whack and we had to go back to the drawing board. That being said, we are SO PROUD of what we have created, and we can't wait to share it with you all.
